Denim (ENSHU textile)
Concept

躍如 -  YAKUJO -

YAKUJO is a Japanese word meaning active and lively.

When I held the ENSHU Textile denim in my hands, I felt the three-dimensionality of the cloth and the vitality of the fabric, which is created by the warp threads of different thicknesses and colours and the bright orange weft threads, and this inspired my design.

I designed the pattern to nestle into the three-dimensionality of the human arm and shoulder so that the three-dimensional shape is maintained even when the human is not wearing the sleeves.
My work was exhibited at MATOU Exhibition.

MATOU means 'to clothe' in Japanese.
This is a hands-on exhibition where visitors can actually wear and see the clothes on display.
